Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one go, without having to switch between devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.

The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture with a low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with many extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other  robot vacuum s and mop models and could be a useful way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also offers several features that aren't offered on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and elegant. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing but it's not excessively heavy. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
